• When I click an uploaded file, I get the message: ‘Sorry. That file could not be found.’

The files are there allright and the path/url to the files is correct. I re-saved the permalinks, but I cannot think of anything else to try.

    Any suggestions?

All files or just files you upload using fileup?

Do you have stats or encryption enabled on your fileaway table? Because that is an error that occurs when the files are being pushed to the client from the server, rather than downloaded by the client. Do you intend to have stats or encryption enabled? If so, something on your server config is messing with the decryption process.

The files I uploaded with File Away. It worked fine before. I’m not sure when it stopped working. Stats are enabled, encryption is also enabled.

If disabling encryption solves the problem, that’s fine with me.

Disabling encryption and stats has no effect.

If it worked before but stopped working at some point, then some other change to your server or WordPress setup is causing the error. New plugin? New theme? New changes to server config?

Disabling both encryption and stats will rid you of the error, but it would be better to figure out what changed and address that.

How did you disable encryption and stats?

If you’re still seeing “sorry, that file could not be found,” then either stats or encryption is enabled. That is not an error I ever serve up to regular html file downloads.

I deleted encryption=”on” and disabled stats in File Away admin.

I now get a ‘File not found’ / ‘Problem loading page’ page.

Do you have a WordPress page with the same slugname as the directory you’re trying to download from?

I found the culprit: Really Simple SSL.

I’m sorry to have wasted your time. Maybe it helps others.

    Thanks Thom!
