I just updated RankMath (free version) and now when I try to update changes to my website I get the following notice at the top of the page. “Sorry, only authenticated users can research the keyword.”

I am not trying up research a keyword. I am just trying to update a page.

    Thank you!

    Hello @ma3ry,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please try to reconnect the account?

Same issue here. When activating RankMath on a site, one has the option to connect to an account or not. When not connected to any account, the reported error appears each time I try to edit a post or page. Not trying to edit anything in RankMath, just edit the content. Is this a mistake in the code in the latest update, or are you now requiring each install must be connected to a site?

    thank you

Same here. New users. No account linked or anything.
Just every post and page edit in the admin shows this annoying popup.
    Please fix this bug!

    Hello @stvwlf, @m266, & @rcam,

Sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

As this issue is not happening on every installation (we are yet to reproduce it), and while we are getting to the bottom of it, we request you to please revert to the previous version of the plugin by following this guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/version-control/#num-1-1-how-to-rollback-rank-math-to-a-previous-version

Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. We give you an option to choose between the two during the setup wizard and you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode.

You can switch to the Advanced Mode from the top-right corner at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

Also, if any of you is willing to let us access a staging site where it is happening, then please contact us on our website and mention this support topic.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I was getting the same error message since yesterday. Toggled off the NEW ‘Content AI’ in RankMath Dashboard and it fixes it for me.

Same problem, and as @stowbee said, toggling off the new ‘Content AI’ in RankMath Dashboard was the solution.

Same problem here, and on 3 different sites, so it’s got to be very widespread.

And everything is updated to the very latest, so that’s NOT a solution.

Thanks @stowbee, as your suggestion seems to have worked – I can’t imagine how this update passed Q&A as it’s incredibly intrusive and my next step was to delete Rank Math.

I updated the affected sites to the latest update that was announced and posted by @rankmathteam 2 hours ago. This update appears to have resolved this issue on my sites. I did not need to make the setting change @stowbee posted about.

    thank you

Yes, i just saw that hit my WP dashboard and I updated and will try later.

One caveat is that turning off “Content AI” resulted in a serious performance hit. Once I updated and turned “Content AI” back on, the site returned to its speedy self.
