    Hi there,

I am using version 3.3.3 of the plugin and it doesn’t seem to be registering any visits, even if I manually try to generate them by viewing posts. This was working fine before, until about a week ago and then it registered a small number of views to one old (and less popular) post, which resulted in only 1 story showing up in my “trending” section on the homepage (it is set to display 3). For some reason all the previous data had been reset.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin about a week ago, but it is still showing me the “Sorry. No data so far.” error. Do you have any ideas as to what I can do to fix this?

    Many thanks,

    Hi Florence!

I just checked your site and noticed that even though WPP’s tracking code is in place it isn’t updating the views count on page load. I’m guessing that either the Data Sampling feature is active on your site or that some other plugin is interfering with WPP somehow.

    Hi Hector!

Thanks so much – I turned off the feature and fiddled around with some of the plugins and it appears to be working again. Really appreciate your speedy response!

    Hello,

It seems like I have a similar problem, but I cannot fix it. It seems like no views are counted. It worked yesterday when I first started to set up the site, but now it’s not working.
When I click the ‘tools’ tab and click ‘Empty Cache’, I get this error: cache table does not exist.

Please advise. The site I’m trying to set up: ymis.no

    Thank you

    Hey @glennsigurdsen!

In your case, it seems both WPP’s database tables (popularpostsdata and popularpostssummary) are missing for some reason. Disabling and re-enabling WordPress Popular Posts should recreate the database tables.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes, ok?

Hey Hector, thank you for fast response. I have disabeled and re-enabled the plugin, but still, there seems to be something wrong. The views are not counted.

Do you have any other ideas?

Indeed, just checked again and WPP was unable to recreate the DB tables which is why it fails to register any pageviews.

My guess is that either your hosting account doesn’t have enough privileges to create database tables or that you already reached the maximum number of database tables allowed by your current hosting plan (assuming that there’s such limitation in place, some hostings out there do this). Or it could be something else.

You should get in touch with your hosting and report the problem.
