Once I try to process and update indexing I receive the following error message:

Something went wrong while optimizing the SEO data of your site. Please try again later.

    Wordpress 5.4.1
    Yoast 14.0.2

  • Hi @alriksson,

I’m very sorry to hear you’re experiencing this error. Did you by any chance update to 14.0.4 already? If so, did that solve the issue?

If the issue remains can you please open a full bug report to give us more information on how to reproduce this issue. You can do this by following the steps in this article

It did not, still plenty of bugs in Yoast at the moment.

@alriksson Can you please try the following steps:

    1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
    3. Hit the “Reset indexables & migrations” button
    4. Try the optimize button again

If that does not help can you please share your error log with us here.

    @awesomesaurus
I have done all these steps and updated to 14.4 and the problem has not been solved in addition to that I have tested the troubleshoot mode in WordPress and the problem remains

I tried to disable the add-on and reactivate it. There is nothing new. Please explain the cause of the problem

I found that indexation won’t start, giving the message “Something went wrong while optimizing the SEO data of your site. Please try again later.” and the JavaScript error “SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data” when you have define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true); in your wp-config.php ánd get actual warnings/notices.

    Yoast 14.0.4
    WP 5.4.1

You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.
