I’ve been having problems with “Something went wrong” error on my contact form. It works well most of the time, but every few days/weeks it starts returning “Something went wrong” without any reason or changes made to my instance. Usually restarting Metforms plugin works, and the error goes away, but I cannot afford losing a single entry.
I’ve read other threads related to this error and can confirm that my form is setup correctly as most of the time the entries work. It stops working without any reason and requires plugin restart.
I do use LightSpeed Cache with Redis but I cannot justify turning cache off for a buggy form plugin – can you please advise if there is any way to debug this? Can I see the logs in any way to make sure what’s happening when this issues comes up again? Alternatively – is there any way you can recommend a tool for monitoring if the form is working correctly?
    Thank you

I’ve tried to enable debugging and there is an error related to the plugin in my logs:

session_start(): Cannot start session when headers already sent Line : 17 /home/utfqiwixdy/domains/xyz.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/metform/base/shortcode.php

I also get the related performance warning in tools/site health:

An active PHP session was detected

APHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.

    Hi @opesys

    Thanks for contacting us.

In most cases, it happens due to a cache. I would request to clear all the cache from your website including any plugin, browser, server, or CDN (eg. Cloudflare) also try disabling the Cache/Optimization plugin for some time if you are using one.

If not, try resetting the permalink by selecting one random structure and saving it, after that select the previous link and save it again. You can follow this?video.

We are concerned about the log error issue and it’s been already solved. It will be fixed on our next plugin update release. Stay tuned!

    Regards

    Arif
