• This is so strange. I have been using WordPress for years and never seen this happen until very recently? I use Genesis. With all the comments after this blog post (link shown above) and others at the top of each comment it says like for me “https://Maitri says”, and it is at the top of every single one. It looks terrible and it’s driving me crazy! What has caused this? Is it a known issue? Are they correcting it?

    Thank you so much,

    Maitri

    Hello @mikegulett,

I agree with @t-p, additionally if you do not want to move away from this theme. The problem can be resolved by fixing the issue in the theme template.

    I hope it helps.

Please do not jump into other topics. If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post, and that way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.

Thank you so much for your help but this is really confusing to me because I always do the updates for everything when they show up and I swear to you I regularly get updates for Genesis, I had one just the other day and then this problem started happening? And yesterday was really weird because instead of what I stated above that at the top of the comment it would say, like, “https://Maitri” MOST of the comments came through like that but a couple came through and just said “says” at the top without even a name! Then it went back to the https://name. Not having a name is problem. It just happens that the 2 that came through are regular commenters and their picture showed up so I know who they are but my blog has been going since 2007 with almost 2 million hits and I have a lot of followers, I blog daily except for weekends, and sometimes I get a lot of comments, which I always answer, and people will comment that I’ve never seen before and if their name doesn’t show up I’m stumped!

I so appreciate your help. I have always done my own websites in a WYSIWYG sort of way but in 2013 I paid someone to set this one up because I had been on Blogger, I wanted the whole blog and all the posts moved to WordPress and didn’t know how to do that, and it was already a big blog by then. I have taken care of the site since then but the woman I hired installed Genesis. If you think I should change my theme can you suggest one that is easy to use?

Thanks so much. I love WordPress and have never had problems like this since I started and the commnets section of my blog is active and important. I help a lot of people and I want to be able to answer them properly.

Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions. For one thing, as I said to @t-p, I get regular notices of updates for the plugin for Genesis and I always do the updates to keep things current. I had one just days ago and the problem arose after the update.

I wouldn’t begin to know how to mess with the template and I’d be afraid to try! As I asked t-p if you think I should change the template can you suggest one that would be easy to install and use?

    Thanks so much!

One other question, if I do switch templates do you know of one that has emojis and allows readers to upload a picture? The current one doesn’t and my people would like to be able to share pictures of like their gardens and pets and such.

    Thank you,

There are thousands of themes in this directory here:

The Genesis update that just came through this evening (March 21, 2019) fixed the comment issue on my blog. They look back to normal again now.

I have been working with Studiopress for many days to get this issue resolved and now it seems they have solved the problem which apparently was caused by their update to Genesis on March 13.
