Something suspicious is going on

  • A recent update of the plugin is saying: “

    It looks like you may still be relying on the legacy settings of this plugin. These settings will no longer work in the next update of Stripe Payments for WordPress.

    ”

    However there’s no longer any settings to enter the keys. There is a button that suspiciously routes my info via the author’s website. I don’t want them in the middle of my transactions.

    How do I get rid of the annoying nag that appears in front of all screens and confuses my users?

    Hi @dave_wordpress!

    In version 2.1 we updated the plugin to utilize Stripe Connect. This allows for a simpler, more reliable, and faster authentication process for new users of WP Simple Pay.

    We’ve put together a quick FAQ that helps address a few questions regarding the new Stripe Connect setup: https://docs.wpsimplepay.com/articles/how-does-stripe-connect-affect-me/

    To remove the nag you can either go through the Stripe Connect process or upgrade to the Pro version of the plugin, which offers an option to manually enter your API keys.

    Note: WP Simple Pay Lite will continue to work as-is even if you do not go through Stripe Connect, so connecting is not mandatory, but it is necessary to remove the notice shown in your admin area.
