Something is wrong with open sans bold

Hello,
I noticed that bold text in the body (if it’s not italics but normal) is messed up. I am not sure what changed, but it’s almost… ugly? I tried disabling plugins and I am not sure if WordPress changed something but it’s definitely different. It’s like the font is not fluid and entirely bold, there seem to be some weird spots in that bold font. I don’t get it.
