As I was preparing to leave a comment on my blog today I suddenly got a notice that my session had timed out. Very odd; it has never done that before. So I went to log back in and it refused to accept my password. No error messages other than “Error: Incorrect password.” I emptied my browser cache and cookies, tried again, no luck. Rebooted, scanned disk, defragged, ran my virus and PC rescue programs, etc. No good. Still cannot log in.

No one else is having a problem logging in (I can log in fine using my husband’s data, for instance). Like Tigger, I’m the only one. Cannot get in at all using my admin name and password. I have changed nothing whatsoever; it just arbitrarily decided my password is no good. This is true in both Firefox and IE.

(By the way, I have been sailing along with version 1.5 without incident for a couple of years, so have not upgraded.)

  • Ouch. Not sure why that would happen, but you can reset your admin password using phpMyAdmin using these instructions from tamba2.org.uk.

Thank you, sewmyheadon. You must get tired of repeating that instruction, lol. Thing is, I had trouble finding phpMyAdmin and didn’t think I had access to it. Finally found it in the mySQL database. Once I got to it, it barely resembled the images shown at the link you provided, but I managed to work my way through it, hit the GO button with some trepidation, and VOILA! I am now happily back in my blog’s inner sanctum.

    You are a god(dess)!!!
