• Hi,

I’m so confused. First I got told to host my wordpress files on a MAMP server, which is pointless, as it can only be seen by me, and no one else. And my Mac would always have to be on.

What do I do? Do I host the wordpress files to a web hosting service? If so how do i do that, and will everything work Okay?

    Thanks
    -Sam

  • Well, if you want the world to see your blog, then you’ll want to host it on an accessible web server, right? ??

If you are the only one you want to see the blog, then MAMP is a good option to run it all locally.

Have you check out the Docs section yet? There’s some good “Getting Started” articles that may help you.

Yes, but it’s confusing ?? LOL

Basically, to host it, bung the folder on a webhosts server, ie godaddy.com ect.

After you have hosted it is there anything else you need to do?

Yup, just find a host that supports the minimum requirements and you’re good to go. Many hosts even have installers that’ll do it for you too.
