    Install the plugin “Classic Editor” to go back to the old editor.

    Please explain what you mean by “the new stuff just doesn’t work”.

    Long, long list . . .
    basically pasting in my text as usual results in all kinds of weird looking stuff. . . one list turned into “Code” box, in fact, it separated all my perfect text into weird boxes and strange thingss . . .

    #2 Cannot paste a domain into it’s title. It pastes the domain in behind the title

    #3 Does not understand <br> tags

    I found a command that says turn blocks OFF, but it doesn’t work either.

    All in all, it kills my whole publishing model because in the past all articles are ready to go, written off line in a text editor.

    This version looks like it requires me to be logged in and online while I write the article directly into WordPress … which is really stupid.

    So, how do I install the plugin?

    Of course, the old editor was nothing to brag about either, and was full of bad design and bugs.

    ??

    Sorry to be such a novice … but I’m still in the html2 world.

    Plugins -> ADD NEW

    Classic Editor should be there with the featured plugins. Once you install and activate, visit its settings to make it the default editor.

    60Secondz brings up a very good point. A couple of my clients write very long articles in Word (because they want to) and give it to me to format into WordPress as necessary. So I have to use the old editor now to do this. Not much of a problem in itself, but the new Gutenberg already redundant.
