    Hey Lisa;
    You seem to have “aggregate CSS” and “aggregate JS” off, so my first suggestion would be trying to enable those.

    Next up I would propose to try the “inline & defer CSS” option, there’s more info in the AO FAQ on that topic.

    What you also easily do is adding https://www.lavocedivenezia.it/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/icons/newspaper.woff?19 in Settings -> Autoptimize -> Extra -> Preload.

    Less easy but very important; you have _a lot_ of javascript, some from the site itself, but also a lot external (facebook, mgid.com, adroll, google ads, …) and all that JS needs to be download and needs to be executed and that is slowing things down. You should re-evaluate each and every choice made here and you really should remove some of those … :-/

    hope this helps,
    frank

    Thank you Frank!!
    I finally know where put my hands to try to improve.
    In fact the situation has improved a little: thank you!
    But I think that last point you indicate affect more important …
    Is there a way for me to see which is the external js that weighs the most to assess whether to sacrifice one, which one? Maybe: a plug in or a code test that gives a ranking who slows more of others?
    I wish you much good for your help Frank.
    Thanks again

    Sure; you can test your page on Google Pagespeed Insights; https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https://www.lavocedivenezia.it/

    on the resulting page scroll down to Diagnostics and then click on “Reduce the impact of third-party code” and/ or “Reduce JavaScript execution time” which will show a list of JS with impact.

    have a nice evening! ??
