Somebody Hacked my index.php file

  • I was just shocked today when i saw my all 3 wordpress blogs were showing a photo with just a smile and written something in another language.

    And i logged into cpanel and somehow just found out that my wordpress index.php file has something to do with it and i deleted and uploaded fresh file again. After that blogs are running ok.

    My question is how can someone changed my file?

    How can i prevent this to happen in future?

    Any help is appreciated.
