Some wp.com images glitching in Chrome & Firefox
-
Hi,
I am seeing strange behavior of the performance feature that offloads images to wp.com. The issue isn’t with all uploaded images, but we had to disable the feature because of these unpredictable and unwanted results.
Take a look at the following images in latest Firefox (84.0) and Chrome (87.0.4280.88 Official Build x86_64) browser on MacOS 11.1.
Original: https://givenagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Desktop-8.jpg?fit=1440%2C1024&ssl=1
Faulty: https://i0.wp.com/givenagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Desktop-8.jpg?fit=1440%2C1024&ssl=1Original: https://givenagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/[email protected]
Faulty: https://i0.wp.com/givenagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/[email protected]The faulty ones render glitched with half of the image stretching out in long lanes downwards, a bit like the wrong image compression codec is used. The original images are regular JPG images, but it appears the wp.com clones are getting wrong WEBP image headers.
I hope this is sufficient info to investigate. Let me know if you need more details.
