please click on the translate button (it says ‘Italiano’ or ‘Português’) and see that the translation is only working for the post titles but not the texts.
this website uses the Divi theme.

i dunno if it’s related but all was working fine before the new wordpress update to version 6.2

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

It is possible that the translation button is hidden by CSS.

However, you should still be able to find the corresponding strings in the dropdown list of the Translation Editor.

Can you verify this and let me know if you can translate the other content?

    Best Regards,

    Anca

    thank you, anca.
    for your time and reply.
the translation button is working fine; no CSS hidden.
the problem is in the translation of the excerpts of the post. the post itself is all translated, but where the excerpts appear the translation doesn’t work. a few days ago it worked perfectly. and i haven’t mess with any codes that could have caused this bug. the only thing i’ve observed was the wordpress update to version 6.2.

here’s an image of the page in Portuguese language
(notice the translation button says ITALIANO to be translated to italian):

and here’s an image of the page in Italian
(notice the translation button says PORTUGUES to be translated to portuguese + notice the excerpts were not translated – in red color)
    image: https://prnt.sc/Rq-yNJvKa9RO

but if you go to the post itself is all translated
    portuguese: https://fabianofonseca.com/2023/03/ficcoes/
    italian: https://fabianofonseca.com/it/2023/03/ficcoes/

thank you once again for your time and effort

    Hi there,

The blog post content and what is displayed on you Homepage are different texts. You need to also translate the content from your Homepage.

TranslatePress can not translate the excerpts automatically because the post is already translated.

Let me know how this goes.

    Best Regards,

    Anca

i guess you are not understanding how it works:
the Homepage shows excerpts by category of some blog posts; these blog posts are indeed translated.

    the theme gets the excerpts from the blog posts, automatically;
i don’t have to create the excerpts, they are inherited from the blog posts, which are translated.

and like i said before, it was all working fine. the homepage was showing the translated excerpts automatically, and now they don’t.

i already tried disabling all the plugins and enabling one by one and that didn’t fix the translation problem. i’m running out of options here ??

    thank you!

    Hello,

I understand what you’re saying but you need to keep in mind that TranslatePress works based on strings. The post content and excerpt are different strings, so if you translate the content, the excerpt will not be translated as well. Maybe the excerpt changed and this is why the translation has disappeared.

Can you tell me if you are using automatic translation or manual translation? If you’re using manual translation, you should simply open your homepage in the translation interface, select the excerpt and translate it again.

Let me know if this worked!

    Best Regards,

    Anca

i know all this, and i’m doing manual translations, but before i did not have to translate the excerpts; they were automatically translated, exactly because it’s the same strings. but thank you once again
