Some Suggestions

I have some ideas for the Gear WordPress theme.

First, I think that Gear should have banner rotation. Basically, what I mean by this is that the administrator should be allowed to select how many banners he/she wants to rotate, enter text, select background image, choose image, etc. for each one, and have the banner randomly rotate between them. Hope that makes sense.

Second, another thing that I’m sure many administrators would appreciate is the ability to use custom images without changing the code. This would entail having an option in each image selection drop-down box that says “Custom” or something and allows you to type in the filename.

Third, a custom textfield in the header would be cool. I have put one into my WordPress site manually that displays system uptime and load average, but an option in the settings for that would be nice, and, of course, the option to disable it if so desired. This would erase all chances of this customization being overwritten when updating the theme and would be a bit more convenient.

The site where I have this operating at the moment is https://www.internaldrive.info. It’s not a blog, but I am using WordPress because it’s easy and dynamic.
