Some sort of display for all posts

Ist there, or does someone want to help me develop a plug in that somehow allows access to all posts. I do use the “next” lonk at the bottom with pagenation. That is cool but not quite right. I am looking for adrop down list by month, or a DOM model that loads a recent like list of articles broken by category in the side bar. I don’t wanna have ot write it… but?
Any one know of this or something like it?
