I have about 12-18 sites under my MainWP Dashboard (4.5.2). All my child site plugins are up to date.

6 Child Sites have disconnected though, and won’t reconnect. (Generic ‘error’ saying to disable and re-enable the plugin on the child site).

All of these sites are on EasyWP (the WordPress side of Namecheap)

Anyone else have this problem, or know of a solution?

    Hi @robwilc

Does disabling and re-enabling the MainWP Child plugin help with the reconnection?

If not, please open a private Help Desk ticket so we can collect some additional information & investigate further: https://mainwp.com/my-account/get-support/

And please refer to this wp.org thread by its URL in the ticket.

Hi Bojan, no it doesn’t. I’ll create a ticket.

Just to provide an update on this issue –

The PHP function php_uname() is disabled on the Child Sites’ server.

The function is used by the PHPSecLib that MainWP uses to encrypt sensitive data, which is done for security reasons.

Unfortunately, the EasyWP support didn’t enable the PHP function for the user.

We are investigating possibilities on creating a workaround for situations where the function php_uname() is disabled on the server.

Since we don’t see what else can be done at this moment, we’ve recommended migrating the affected Child Site to another host.
