    Hi –

I followed all the directions and used the settings interface to set up the plugin.

However, when I went to look at media files that had already been added and had been visible in the library previous to installation of the plugin…

    • the plugin interface could only recognize pdfs (no gifs, jpgs, pngs were visible any longer)
    • when I tried to “add” the files in the sync tab, it was very confusing to look at the list because instead of just showing “example.png”, it saw and showed all of the svn markup as well
    • after adding the files anyway, the filenames did show in the regular media library tab list with a “friendly” filename (“example.png”)… BUT all of the thumbnails were missing, so you could not see an image preview to help you select
    • after deactivating and deleting the plugin, ALL of the images and files (including pdfs) that had been in the uploads folder were gone. To restore them, the uploads directory AND the database had to be restored.

Kind of wish I hadn’t touched this one.

    Hi,

    1. Which view do you mean? The Uploader shows the extensions you configure. So if you only allow pdf then only pdf is shown.

    2. All files in the media library are listed by default. If you only like certain files to be take into account please configure the extensions in the administration.

    3. Do the thumbnails exist in the upload folder?

    4. The sync plugin has no delete command. So if something was deleted then by the internal functions of WordPress which are used. Which version of WordPress do you use?

    Hi Michael,

    1. I left the uploader file selections at the “all” default, and did not set or exclude any. So, it should have been able to show the .gifs, .pngs and .jpgs that existed in the media library.

    2. I did not touch the wordpress-flash-uploader default “all” settings for files to show. Also when I checked, the default was set to “all”. So, it should have seen more than pdfs.

    3. The thumbnails were never stored in the uploads folder. I am not sure where they were stored, but the wordpress-flash-uploader showed broken images where previously there had been thumbnails.

    4. I am using WordPress 3.4.1. I didn’t delete the images through the WordPress admin, although I was using the wordpress-flash-uploader tab in the media library.

There seems something really broken on your system.

    1. all should show all files in the folder. Are you sure your are in the right folder?
    2. you only see pdf. Because this is not a default extension. So if you go to the directory with a file explorer you see the other files?
    3. Are there maybe some write restrictions on the folder? The files should be generated by a wordpress function. So no “non worpress” code is generating them.
    4. 3.4.1 is the one I test right now. I don’t understand what you mean the the 2nd sentence.

    Michael
