Some posts won't export

I was only able to import posts up until August of 2014. The rest of the posts (which are on the original site) do not seem to be in the XML file. Does anyone know why this would happen and how I can get to those other posts to transfer them? I tried exporting everything and just exporting the posts by date – nothing worked.
