Many thanks for sharing. Looking at the images and how they’re being sources from https://cdn.shihtzufanz.com this looks to be related to a WP Optimize configuration. Can you temporarily deactive WP Optimize and I’ll check your site once more?

I have deactivated WP Optimize, but see no changes from my end.
Please check from your end.

By the way, I believe that CDN is related to WP Compress (https://www.wpcompress.com/), a service/plugin I have running on my website to compress images and improve loading speed

Many thanks for the update. As with your own check I can also see the image remains being served from a CDN. Can you try to also temporarily deactivate or suppress the WP Compress plugin, which seems to have options to have images served from a CDN.

Because with the WP Compress plugin and their CDN activated, not all images disappear, just some of them are not visible. Are you able to determine the differentiating factor between the visible and invisible images?

No problem whatsoever! You don’t need to deactivate your WP Compress plugin, you can use the AMP plugins “Plugin Suppression” tool to restrict that from running on AMP URLs. Can you try that and see if it works (AMP > Settings > Plugin Suppression)?

Let’s check if the mobile suppression option works, and if not I’ll test out the WP Compress plugin for any incompatibles.

The AMP mobile suppression option seems to work, I believe all images are visible.

However, with WP Compress suppressed it also seems to affect the site’s speed, according to Google PageSpeed Insights.
One of the suggestions I got in the mobile test results section is “Use tools such as AMP Optimizer to server-side render AMP layouts”. I use WP Compress to increase website load speed.

Would you be able and willing to test WP Compress for incompatibilities?

Thanks for the update and sharing details of the performance testing you’ve been doing. Certainly I’d be happy to test out WP Compress in the context of AMP and any incompatibilities. Please allow me some time to do so, it may be next week before I have an update.

@belsit Many thanks for your patience on this. I’ve checked the WP Compress plugin and there is output that is not AMP compatible. Whether you’re using the local mode which optimizes images locally or the live mode which uses the CDN there are validation errors output.

While the plugin may not be fully AMP compatible you can use the Plugin Suppression tool or you can “Keep” any of the output validation errors if you wish using the AMP plugins “Error Index”. Just note that any URLs that have any validation errors which you’ve “Kept” won’t be fully AMP valid URLs.

I have reported it to WP Compress. They are investigating.

One thing I have noticed is a video on my page does not show on the AMP page. WP Compress already mentioned “We don’t touch videos, that could be due to AMP specifically or the video partner”. The video was uploaded to my site. When I disable WP Compress in the AMP plugin, the images appear as I mentioned before, but the video does not. Is this indeed something AMP related?
