• Hello,

    We are facing an issue where some order statuses do not get updated to “Processing” when payment is successful, using the Stripe payment gateway. It happens rarely, with approximately 10 to 15 orders in 2 years, but it leads to unpleasant moments with customers.

    In these cases, payment intent is sent to Stripe on order fulfilled, and Stripe apparently sents back the payment confirmation but WC does not update the order status.

    What could possibly be wrong? Issues with the server at the time of the confirmation? What would you recommend?

  • Check the logs on Woocommerce -> Status -> Logs to finde out more.

    Logs confirm that no message was received from Stripe, even though Stripe confirmed payment.

    Aside from that, I can’t find any clue as to why that happened.

    The issue could be caused by a temporary server glitch or a communication error between WooCommerce and Stripe during the transaction. It could also be due to a plugin conflict, an outdated plugin version, or something else.

    To troubleshoot the issue further, please enable debug mode in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Advanced settings, and monitor the log for any error messages during transactions.

    If the issue persists, please share any error messages you see in the debug log. This will help us understand the issue better and provide a more accurate solution.

    The feature was already enabled, and it seems that there aren’t any errors getting output to the log, only debug messages.

    On August 28th, at the time of the order, it shows the payment intent being sent to Stripe, but no confirmation message was sent back, despite being confirmed on Stripe’s side.

    Is there any way for WC to automatically send a message to Stripe to recheck for a confirmation message?

    I have been experiencing a recurring issue with my WooCommerce store concerning the update of order statuses. Although payments are processed correctly by Stripe and the charge.succeeded webhooks are received without any issues, the order statuses are only updated 15 minutes after the actual payment, affecting all orders.

    Here are the technical details:

    ? Stripe Plugin Version: 8.7.0

    ? WooCommerce Logs: The logs show that payment requests and webhook responses are received and processed correctly.

    ? Plugin Update: The Stripe plugin was recently updated, and I have re-authenticated the settings in WooCommerce.

    ? Server Performance: I have checked the server configuration, and it seems adequate for managing tasks in real-time.

    Could you help me determine why these delays are occurring and how to resolve them? The delay in updating the statuses could affect the customer experience.

    Thank you for the additional details. Since you have a recent order, could you please share the logs for this one, even if there aren’t errors. Please also share the order notes for this one. In both instances, please remove any sensitive customer data.

    Out of the 10 to 15 orders or so over the past couple of years that have presented this issue, can you find a common element among them? They were placed using Credit Cards or any additional payment method or express checkout? Maybe similar addresses? Similar banks or credit card providers. Anything we can find to help pinpoint the issue can help us with the troubleshooting steps!
