Some Notifications not working in WordPress 4.3.1

Forgot to mention that I’m running WP network multisite, if that helps.

A number of users are reporting issues with the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification too, although i’ve been unable to replicate it no matter how hard I try.

It’s also worth noting that multisite isn’t currently officially supported. Full support will come at a later date, most likely as an add-on.

Can you tell me what active plugins you also have?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, much appreciated. Can’t wait for multi-site to be supported, a plugin like yours could really come in handy and a premium for the service would be more than worth it in my opinion.

There are 48 active plugins on my network so listing them all here would probably not be useful. Out of these, there are 6 that have mail functions and of which I believe only 3 have transactional functions for different user groups.

– Better Notifications for WordPress (of course)
– WP Mail Bank (for SMPT)
– Contact Form 7 (contact forms)
– AffiliateWP (transactional)
– Easy Digital Downloads (transactional)
– Easy Digital Downloads – Front End Submissions (transactional)

If you think it could help, I can send you a System Info file and we could continue exploring the issue in private.

Thanks for the the extra info.
I don’t think any of those should be interfering with BNFW. I’ve seen some conflicts with other membership managing / login functionality plugins though.

Either way, enough people have said that the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification isn’t working for them for me to go back to it and investigate more thoroughly.

I’ll also investigate the ‘Custom Post Types – New Comment’ notification not firing too and let you know how I get on.

Great, thanks Jack. To be clear, in my case the default notifications for those two are sending, but they aren’t being customized by BNFW.

Ok, thanks for pointing that out. I just did some tests for comments, here are my results:

Before unchecking the “Email me whenever Anyone posts a comment & A comment is help for moderation”:
– Custom Post Type author receives Default wordpress notification
– Comment replies are not sent

After unchecking the “Email me whenever Anyone posts a comment & A comment is help for moderation”:
– Custom Post Type author does not receive any notification
– Comment replies are customized by BNFW and sent!

After some testing, I think the issue is that there isn’t a notification that you can customise in BNFW that sends an email to the post author. Normally, when setting this notification up, there should be tickbox that says ‘Send this notification to the post author only’ but there aren’t for New Comments / Trackbacks / Pingbacks at present.

This was raised by another user on this thread recently too. This is on my roadmap for the next major release of BNFW though so hopefully you won’t have to wait long for this.

You may also find a solution for the multisite issue you’re having on this thread. If you see the long reply by @jshare at the bottom, you’ll see he’s tried *lots* of combination and discovered how to get BNFW working with the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification on Multisite.
