• I can’t figure this one out. I moved my blog from https://aaronpriestphoto.com/blog to the root, https://www.aaronpriestphoto.com this morning. Everything seems to be working fine in FireFox. However, in IE, the newest post on top cannot be clicked on, the hyperlink disappears before the page is completely finished loading. The rest of the posts can be opened by clicking their title. And once you are in a post, you can navigate forward to a newer post at the top of the page, but not backward to a previous post. That link also disappears in IE before the page finishes loading (it’s there initially). Neither of these two issues show up in FireFox.

To troubleshoot I’ve disabled all plugins, and removed all widgets from the right, it didn’t resolve my issue. I haven’t tried changing my theme yet as that would be very dramatic and I don’t think it was an issue with IE before I moved the site. I can’t find any references remaining to the old location in any files that I might have missed.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

It is generally due to copy contents from word document and paste it in wordpress editor. By default code added should be:

    <!-- [if gte mso 9]<xml> <w:WordDocument>...

Once you remove this code from the post/page wordpress should work fine with IE.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Interesting… I just looked through all my posts and could not find any code like that in any post though (viewing in HTML mode).

This seems to be an issue with Flash and swfobject.js. On three Windows 7 computers with IE8, one is working fine but does not have Flash installed, another gave a debug error about swfobject.js (2.1) and would not work but works fine after uploading a newer 2.2 version to /wp-includes/js/, and the third computer is still not working no matter what I try. So I have no idea if it’s generally working for most people using IE or not. FireFox of course is fine on all three!
