Some kind of short codes in widget?

  • Hi, I am starting to learn about wordpress.
    (By that said I have started with a grid system, called headway.)

    I have a question, since its hard to custom the widget “title” (categories)

    that I wonder if its possible to make a “text” widget, and make whatever stylish title i want (with a picture) and then..

    POST A SHORT CODE?

    for categories, archives, most commented post, and so on..

    I think this is the code I am reffering to: “Posted on %date% by %author% ? %comments%””

    How can I found more of those, and sites/tutorials so I can custom make them? thanks
