Some keywords to stop from search and better opinion

  • Hi,
    We are using your plugins and showing good results in search but want to know several questions
    1) How can I stop searching from several keywords to show the search results? From where to stop that? For example-best Mehendi Design, Most Handsome man, best blouse design
    2) AND or OR logic which shows the best search results?
    3) How can i use it globally with wordpress Multisite Network?

    1. I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the question. What do you want to stop? What do you want to get in the search results? If there are common words you want to exclude from search, adding them to the list of stopwords is the best way.

    2. It depends on your needs, so experiment with both and see what works. AND provides fewer, but more precise results, OR gets you more results. Which is more important?

    3. Buy the Premium version, searching across different multisite subsites is a Premium feature.

    Hi Mikko,
    Yes I want to stop showing the products which contain the above keywords as when the search contains this keyword showing the search results.I want to stop that.
    I purchase the Premium version then the existing file and packages will be changed?
    Can i get the optimized search results with Premium?
    Will it affect anything on site performance (pagespeed) and quick search results?
    Will it work on AMP pages and can I get the same results of getting search results from any category through shortcode?

    Hi,
    I have added best Mehendi Design, Most Handsome man, best blouse design in the Stopword(s) to add sections and showing this results after adding
    Successfully added 3/3 terms to stopwords!
    But still when I want to search with keywords design still showing the search results with that keywords.
    What additional things needs to be done?

    Let’s back up a bit. What is the user experience you are actually trying to achieve here? Why are you doing this? It may be stopwords aren’t actually the best solution.

    Also, you can’t add a phrase, stopwords are single words. What did Relevanssi actually add to the list of stopwords? Probably not what you expected.

    Relevanssi Premium is a separate plugin, yes, but it’s very close to the free version and all performance, AMP and other aspects are the same as in the free version.

    So can i add this word blouse,mehandi,design,handsome separately to block from search?
    Is this the way?

    Ah, if you want to just hide a post, then stopwords are not a good solution.

    Just add the post IDs of the blocked posts to the “Post exclusion” setting in the Relevanssi searching settings, that’s the best way to solve this.
