• Recently, not sure when some of the images throughout my clients site, https://www.compusourcenow.com appear to be displaying with a blue question mark.

I have read through all the forums and tried all the methods I have found, but they aren’t resolving my issues:
    – Verified upload location directory is the same as the photos that are working
    – verified FTP permissions are the same for images that are showing
    – Deactivated all plugins one at a time to see if that resolved the issues

    Here is what I know:
    – The images with the Blue Question mark, I can go login to WP and edit them and then I can see them.
    – When accessing the images via ftp, I have downloaded them to my computer, renamed them and then have tried to upload them again and still I receive a question mark
    – I upload a basic image file that I already have on my computer and THAT WORKS just fine!!

Why am I able to upload NEW images that are mine personally, but not upload the ones from the site that I have downloaded to my PC and renamed?

I have no idea when this changed, but I received a call this week from my client who made me aware of the changes. Any thoughts as to what the issue could be?

I am seeing this error on your Photos page (within your code), the same 11 images fail to load because of this error, I’m not entirely sure why at this point.

Your images are very large and need optimizing/resizing as your Photos page loads very slowly, try removing your existing images in the gallery plugin you’re using and uploading your optimized images instead. Clear all active caches (and your browser cache) and refresh your page.

You may need to regenerate your thumbnails too.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I went ahead and downloaded from the FTP source, a few of the images that were failing. After downloading, I went ahead and resized them all to 600×800, which brought them down to 68KB. I then went back into wordpress and tried to upload the images and they fail. Then I went ahead and tried another image file, one personally on why computer, that is 76KB and over 1200 in size. This one loads just fine! I also changed themes and deactivated ALL plugins. I contacted GoDaddy, my host, and they too were able to see what you saw. I am now calling them again as I don’t know why I’m able to upload some images and not others. The file names only have _ or – in them, no special characters either. And I also saw that my personal image didn’t have .jpeg in the fie name and the website one did, so I removed .jpeg from the file name and tried to upload again and I still received a blue question mark. And when I just went back to the FTP site, the 2 new photos I have uploaded are visible there, but their permission code is 666 and ALL the other images still in the FTP (some working on the website and some not) are 644. I’m not sure what the heck is going on, but I’ve been working on this for the past 4.5hrs and getting no where.

The cause of some of my images becoming blue questions and not being able to upload some images:
My wordpress isn’t recognizing .jpeg files, but it is recognizing all other image file types. Anybody have a clue as to why this is happening? I really want to avoid having to modify over 50 images and converting them to jpg.
