    Hello!

    I have some problems with the images on my website. They display fine on some pages (e.g. https://flyingsamovar.com/about/), but in blog posts some of them render jquery error (e.g. https://flyingsamovar.com/samovars-escape-to-st-pete/). I imported the entries (alongside the pictures) from a wordpress.com blog which I used to write before. I thought that this was the issue – so I deleted some of the pictures from the media library and uploaded them again – but that did not help. The newly uploaded pictures do not display at all (and, again, that problem does not concern the “about” page). The imported pictures which do display disappear as soon as I add a css class to them or change their size. Is there any way to find out why the problem concerns only some of the pictures only on tsome of the pages? Is there anything I could do to fix it?

    Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. As a web development newbie I will be extremely grateful for any help.

  • So you say the issue does not happen at all on the about page? Even with the same image that does not show on the one page?

    On the post you are having issues with, if you remove an image that is currently working and re-add it, does it work? Does the image that does not work also not work on a blank test post?

    Is this something that does not work on posts but is OK on pages?

    Hi Scotty!

    Thank you very much for your reply! I did not think of inserting the image which didn’t work on a post into the page (silly me, thank you for suggesting that!), I have, however, done it now and here is what I found out:

    1. A picture which doesn’t work in a post doesn’t work in a page either;
    2. Just re-adding a picture which currently works seems to be working ok – until I change the size of the picture or add a css class;
    3. Once a re-added picture is resized or a css class is added, in most of the cases it stops showing on the page and deleting it permanently from the media library and adding it again is not helping;
    4. Sometimes, however, everything works as it should (the picture of a lady surrounded with red flags is an example of when it does. The pictures at the beginning of the post which are not showing are an example of when it doesn’t).

    I forgot to mention that before, but the pictures at the very end of the post I linked above haven’t been showing to begin with – and that problem has occured in a few other places on the site, including some featured images (if you go to the blog page, these are the entries with grey background instead of a picture). I have noticed that some of my file names begin with _ – could that potentially be causing the problem? (Although the file name of the picture which works begins with _ as well).

    Thank you for your help again!

    I have noticed one more strange thing – I added a css attribute to one of the pictures taken with a phone, not a camera, to see if the origin of the picture matters in any way here – and the css attribute worked fine – the picture became full-width – but it changed, both on the site and in the editor. It’s not the picture which I intially inserted, it’s a copy of the picture directly above it. Where could all of that be potentially coming from? I’ll be extremely grateful for any help!

    Just in case if someone was buffling with the same problem in the future – the problem was image size. The pictures which were not displaying were simply too heavy WordPress allows up to 64mb per file, for me anything more than 6 seems to be too much – but it also seems to have something to do with the hosting. Sorry for the fuss, Scotty thank you again for your help!
