Some How-To Questions
-
Hi guys!
First of all, I am not sure if this is the right place to post it so please advise.
I felt my site is slowing down a lot and therefore, I decided to ask for some help from my hosting provider.
I got this reply:
While checking I can see that the script size under the account is creating slowness of the account. The total size of external your scripts is 55491 bytes, which is over 20K. Consider optimizing your JavaScript for size, combining them, and using HTTP compression where appropriate for any scripts placed in the HEAD of your documents. You can substitute CSS menus for JavaScript-based menus to minimize or even eliminate the use of JavaScript. The total number of external script files on this page is 9 , consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refactor. Placing external JavaScript files at the bottom of your BODY, and CSS files in the HEAD enables progressive display in XHTML web pages. Now, this seems pretty heavy for me and am thinking how I can go around with this. I have been using W3TC as well.
Now, I am really puzzled. Using Genesis Framework though.
What say you?
