[NSFW] Some Help Please – outdated site theme/pages

    Hi folks.
    Odd situation here to do with site style restoration.

    I’m new working with this co..
    Their site plugins and themes (not on a child theme) have not been updated for over a year, issues with hosting etc.. I’ve now got the site placed on a solid VPS system, so resources aren’t an issue any longer, and in the above staging area I’ve updated all plugins possible. Issue is that I’ve now lost more or less the main styling for pages on the site.
    I’ve now loaded an older backup that should have all older styles still on board.
    The Question has to do with restoring those styles to live site.

    From what I’ve been able to read to restore page styles ideally I’d need to restore ‘database’ and ‘themes’ from that older backup.
    Does that sound right, or does someone recommend anything different??

    Hi,

    Yes, you may want to restore your site using the same WP and PHP version. From there update WP and PHP version and fix what’s broken.

    Also, please note that UpdraftPlus free version only works if you restore the site on the same exact domain/URL.
