    Hi,

I like this plugin but recently I came across very strange behavior.

It didn’t want to import some files into Media Library although message on top of screen read success. No additional files (image sizes) were produced in folder. First I thought it was a bug so I re-installed plugin to no avail.

Finally I discovered regularity. Files which don’t want to import have all very common name template. They start with date-like number string i.e.

    20130608-0130.jpg

but it doesn’t have to be legitimate date

    23456789.jpg
    98765432.jpg

are good enough to block import as well. Interestingly

    12345678.jpg is OK ?!!!

number string can be longer than 8 digits but no shorter so

    234567890.jpg blocks import
    2345678.jpg works OK

    How do I fix this?

Another problem happened after I finished testing and tried to open Media Library. It displayed this message:

Notice: Undefined index: 00 in /home/my-path/public_html/wp-includes/locale.php on line 266

I spent a lot of time trying to resolve it because there is very little about it. Most threads tend to blame files being corrupted but in my case it was definitely database problem. I cannot pin it to exact database record because I’ve found some workaround to make Media Library working and after I removed my test images, everything is working now.

I believe it was caused by adding problematic images I reported in previous post.

Can you do anything about it? Now I have to make backup (just in case) every time I use Add From Server and this is not what I love to do ??

    Howdy,

Apologies for the delay in reply, I’m not really supporting the plugin anymore.

That being said, I think I know what’s causing this, but i’m having problems duplicating it.

Can you let me know where you’re uploading the files, and the exact settings you’re using? ie. are you uploading into wp-content/uploads, or wp-content/my-files/ or wp-content/uploads/2014/12 etc.

Sorry Dion, as it’s been long time to wait, I switched over to another plugin for this purpose ??

    Hello Tom,

I also tried add-to-server because I need something like this. But I can’t get it to work, my new ftp uploads won’t show up in add-to-server. Please can you give me the name of the other plugin you found?

Also, I hope to find a plugin which makes it possible for me to tag multiple images when uploading.. or multi catorize them…

    Regards and thanks!

sitodemmers not sure I’m following correctly, but if you are on the Add from Server screen, then upload images they won’t show up automatically. You need to close out of the Add Media > Add from Server box and click on Add Media button again. Hope this helps

Currently I use Media from FTP combined with Media File Manager.

First one is very simple and lets you add any file you uploaded via FTP to WP database. It is not so powerful as this one but does it job, especially after last upgrades.

Another one lets you relocate files to any directory of your choice. It is very helpful when you have few files to add and you use WP Media file manager so all files end up in media root directory.
