    Hello,

    Thanks for a great plugin.

I have a strange problem. About 50% of all purchases does not show up in google analytics. I can see that the payment module has redirected the customer to the thank you page and can also verify that these pages has been visited in analytics.

In my struggle to find the reason I have failed. It seems totally random.

It seems that the datalayer is not created for some thank you pages but I can not prove it.

Do you have any experience/idea what could cause these problems.

    Hi,

In my experiences this was caused when users did not reach the order received page of your store after a successful payment.

Just to confirm: there are 4 payment types on your site and this issue can be seen for all types of payment?

    Hello, thanks for your reply.

Yes, it can happen for any payment method. And I can also see in google analytics that the thank you page was visited detected using the same google tag container as the code registering the purchase. But no purchase is registered sometimes, just the visit, making me believe datalayer was not created properly.

I have tried all I can think of such as:
    – placing your code in different places
    – turn off all various caching for thank you page.

One new thing I tried yesterday was clicking in checkbox “track enhanced ecommerce” in your plugin settings. Dont know the utcome of this yet.

And I can also see in the payment administration pages that the customer was successfully redirected to the thank you page. Not that this is any proof but just saying.

If I have 6 purchases, maybe 4 are detected in alaytics, 2 is not. Totally random. Has been like that for a long time.

I just changed another thing that may influence this. I will now fire the transaction tag upon url contains “order-received” rather than event “gtm4wp.orderCompleted”.

I would like to inform that since I changed the way the transaction tag fires from event gtm4wp.orderCompleted to url contains “order-received”, no orders are missing in analytics any longer. Seems solved.

    Thanks for a good plugin.
