Some basic rules to use the plugin
-
I was requested to open a new thread because maybe the settings info are not so extended to be clear for people that have no confidence with e-commerce cart and shipping calculation.
First if you use the latest WooCommerce versions 3.x.x is mandatory to avoid the default shipping method and tho choose WBS (or other) as standard. Then you can choose a flat rate or set different shipping prices based on total weight. The weight calculation is in 0.x of your basic unit, i.e. Kg. or Pound.
First you choose if the rate is taxable or not then you can assign a Label for the db table storage (useful if you are advanced user and then you want to modify something directly in MySql) and then a Title that is what customers see in the cart.
It is important before to proceed to have the shipping zones defined in the relative tab of WooCommerce because if the WBS applies not to whole world then the shipping address must complain with the WBS shipping zones chosen in the next row of plugin that is Destination. The ground condition is now set, the minimal weight range and price range (if you want the order to have a minimun shopping price in cart).
The Charges section is where you set the shipping rate based on weight in this way:
Weight Rate charge = must be 0 if you do not have a flat rate
per each kg =? over kg=? = here you set the weight steps below your courier or postal service. But attention please if you set the basic cost you do not set here the total amount but only the difference between the requested basic price and the total for the specific weight group.
The Shipping Classes option is a more fine regulation but in this case you have to create the shipping classes before (p.e. by Categories or by Shoppers Groups) and I leave this section to the more advanced users that need to use it. In case I know that Dan can give you all requested support.
