• I’ve been uploading audio files to my site for a couple weeks now and have discovered rather recently that some of those files are not loading correctly. I’m able to load them to another app and post them as a podcast however, only some are playable on my site.

Prior to deactivating just about all of my plugins, Ep 22 played just fine and showed all the appropriate metadata while all other episodes, including Ep 23 didn’t have the metadata or play. I create the audio files the exact same way everyday, exporting as an mp3 from audacity, then uploading directly to my site, through the GUI. All files are under 15 Mb. When I click the option to download I get a “no file” error, and when I click to listen in another window, I get a 404 error.

I was using Seriously Simply Podcasting which has worked previously. After deactivating most of the plugins, a majority of my audio files have disappeared. Important to note, after reattaching the audio file for Ep22, it will not play.

Update: I reactivated Seriously Simple Podcasting (SSP), Ep 22 works again, but only where it was loaded through SSP, not through the upload function, native to WordPress.

More updates: I killed the old install. I think the problem may have been in the multi-site functionality not accounted for in the design of many plugins and themes. Everything is working great without the multi-site install.

If you run into this problem, export and re-import, through the tools menu.
