Solving White Screen when updating child theme files in Twenty Eleven

I just stopped this happening, after spending hours reading the support posts. There’s all sorts of remedies, like removing all the gaps in functions.php file, etc. The simple way was to replace the wp-admin folder completely.

Because I’m using a local host – MAMP and viewing in firefox and/or Chrome, I can just use a new finder window and copy wp-admin from a clean version of WordPress then paste the folder into the same folder the old one is in, in another finder window, and agree to overwrite the existing one when prompted.

Worked for me, but none of the posts are still open so I started a new thread to help others.
