    Solr (Lucene) does not natively search in start of phrases.

    But it should not be an issue with WPSOLR, as autocompletion should propose “Translation” while typing for “Tra”.

    Else, you can either use a wildcard (tra* or tra*lation), or modify your schema.xml with a NGram filter. But these solutions are respectively slower, and very costly in disk space.
