Update to Soliloquy Lite 2.7.4.2 on 12/13/2023 has broken my slider. No longer displays, just white space with continuous clocking dots. WordPress 6.4.2

  • We are experiencing the same issues. The slider blinks for a second, and no longer displays. Just shows loading screen. Inspector shows error “soliloquy_165.soliloquy is not a function”

A rollback to the previous version 2.7.4.1 resolves it using a simple WordPress rollback plugin.

I’m having the same problem, described in this post. Glad to know it’s not just me.

    Rolling back does the trick.

Same issues here – now turning off automatic updates for this plugin after rolling back – hopefully the plugin developer will update soon.

Same problem at https://www.bmwmoc.org otherwise works great.

your latest update accommodates the RU folks but I’m thinking it GAVE their problem to US.

    Help Please

    Hey @erniemayberry, @bumpstop, @linux4me2, @deeholzman, @rjpivonka,

While I am not excluding the possibility of the new update to have introduced the problem – I was unable to replicate it on my own site.

Could you please try deleting then installing new the latest version of Soliloquy plugin to see if the issue will persist?

OK, at 7:52 AM, 12/19/2023, I reinstalled your version 2.7.4.2 and get the same BAD RESULT, spinning ‘spinner’ and no photos.

AND when I revert to V 2.7.4.1 it works as expected.

What other information can I provide.

(I will run my site with your V 2.7.4.1 till I see official change again)

I upgraded–without deactivating/deleting the plugin–and Soliloquy is now working without any errors.

I still have the copy of 2.7.4.2 I downloaded that gave the error in /assets/js/min/soliloquy-min.js, and compared it to the file currently on www.remarpro.com, which you should get if you do an upgrade through the WP Admin UI now, and found that while the files have the same dates, the sizes vary drastically; the copy of soliloquy-min.js that broke things has a file size of only 6.3 kB, while the file that downloaded when I upgraded today is 29.9 kB.

So it looks like for me, the issue was a corrupted/incomplete file being downloaded from www.remarpro.com when I attempted to upgrade originally, and all is good now.

I recommend re-attempting the upgrade and verifying that the two files listed here have the correct file sizes listed:

    • /assets/js/min/admin-min.js (80.5 kB)
    • /assets/js/min/soliloquy-min.js (29.9 kB)

That seems to fix the problem for me. I tried it on two other sites that are running Soliloquy Lite and they worked too.

I also reverted back to the previous version and that resolved the issue. Hopefully this is addressed soon and a new version is available.

    Hi @tderouindesign,

I think it is resolved. The file /assets/js/min/soliloquy-min.js that caused an issue–for me at least–was just 6.3 kB. The one that downloads if you upgrade now is 29.9 kB and fixes the problem for me.

Give it a try. (Make sure you clear your browser and/or server cache.) You can always revert if it doesn’t work.

Not resolved in 2.7.4.2. I just realized today my sliders aren’t working. They never load. The progress circle keeps going around in a circle.

So I did install a rollback plugin that worked great. Now I just have a vulnerability due to the non updated plugin. BUT this is a fine work around for now — so we can enjoy our holidays.

YES! It is fixed in 2.7.4.2. I didn’t see it at first because my cache was fooling me. When I tried a second time, I did a manual purge of my SiteGround cache, right before updating to 2.7.4.2, and Soliloquy Lite started working again.

It seems the author just updated 2.7.4.2 files instead of issuing a new version – so the fix was hidden by a cache (and flagged by Wordfence as a security risk!).

    Hi @susantau,

I’ve checked with the developers, and they have confirmed that they’ve fixed a JS error without changing Soliloquy version, and it differs from the originally released 2.7.4.2 so if you have updated before the fix, please make sure to delete then install Soliloquy plugin new and clear the cache.

    Sorry for the inconveniences created

OK, I REtried the update to 2.7.4.2 and made sure to “purge cache” after the update. NOW the UPdated version seems to be working.

Thanks to all above and the Developer.

AND now it’s back to Spinning, Spinning for the New Year.

And so I went back to V 2.7.4.1 because 2.7.4.2 was a HEADACHE again.
