    Hi, @neilsewell!

From the information you’ve shared with us, the thing that sticks out the most is that the WooCommerce plugin on your site is very outdated. For reference, it looks like your site is still using version 4.8.0. The latest version is already 5.4.1.

My immediate suggestion for you would be to upgrade WooCommerce. Often, issues can be resolved simply by updating. This will also ensure that your website is running as securely as possible, as there will have been security vulnerabilities corrected with the updates.

Before updating, I would also suggest making a full backup of your site. You can use Jetpack Backup for that.

Hi Cara, thanks for the reply.

We use a lot of WordPress plug-ins that haven’t been updated, hence why we use the older version.

However, we did try updating to the latest version of WordPress and that didn’t fix the issue unfortunately so we have rolled back to save any errors with our other plug ins.

Do you have any other suggestion how we fix this error?

    Thanks

    Neil

    Hey Neil,

From the error details you provided, the main fix that I can really suggest is updating WooCommerce. If you’ll note, it mentions:

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 20 of the file /nas/content/live/solidprint3d/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/admin/meta-boxes/views/html-product-data-panel.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get_type() on bool in /nas/content/live/solidprint3d/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/admin/meta-boxes/views/html-product-data-panel.php:2

That indicates a likely issue with the core WooCommerce files. An up-to-date version of WordPress is also not guaranteed to be backwards compatible with an outdated version of WooCommerce.

If you’re using outdated plugins, we also recommend that you perform a plugin audit. If the plugin is no longer being updated or supported, it could cause different kinds of problems on your site, not just in terms of function but security too. It’s best to move to a plugin that is being updated.

Hi, Yes, thank you for the replies.

I was seeing the error, but the other administrators were not and the automatic “error” email has stopped sending, so I can only assume the error is fixed.

Thank you all for the replies.

    Neil
