• This plugin have a good building structure but use only weather stations with very limited number of views/day, or paid stations.

  • Hello @slysoft
I’m very surprised by the title of your review: “not free at all”.
This plugin is free and it’s not freemium and it don’t sell addons.
Furthermore, you don’t have to pay to access to public stations and if you choose to access OpenWeatherMap APIs, you can use the rate api limiter (included in the plugin) to stay on the free OWM plan.

The phrase “use only weather stations with very limited number of views/day, or paid stations” is a lie, I don’t even understand where it comes from… :/

This plugin is definitely and totally free, so I consider this review totally misleading and unfair. Could you please fix your review to not misrepresent what is this plugin. Thanks in advance.

I wrote about what I found after installing and using the plugin. The number of weather impressions is limited. For more impressions, a subscription is paid. Did I just encounter this situation?

    Hello @slysoft !

Are you sure you’re speaking of the plugin named “Weather Station”? Downloaded here on wp.org?

The plugin named “Weather Station” (the plugin you’re currently reviewing) is totally free, don’t count “impressions” (what is it?) and don’t sell “subscriptions”. It was never the case. And never will be.

Do you have some screenshots to share of “limited impressions” or “subscription to pay”?

I think this thread is about the same problem

    I don’t understand what’s the point?
Can you tell me where you see the plugin counts impressions or sell subscriptions?

Is it true that there is no API working in this plugin with unlimited impressions / day?
That’s what I discovered when I tried to use this. The number of impressions / day was less than the number of impressions of the site pages. So at some point, the plugin would have given a message that the display limit imposed by the weather station has been reached. Correct?

    That’s totally wrong.

Furthermore, when you say “The number of impressions / day was less than the number of impressions of the site pages. So at some point, the plugin would have given a message[…]”: can you show me a screenshot of such a message? Where is it located in the plugin? On the front page? On the admin area?

There’s no such a message, because the plugin is built to avoid quota exceeding (for OWM) and for all other stations types (WeatherFlow, Netatmo, public stations, etc.) there’s even no quota…

Are-you sure you’ve used the plugin? (I’m sorry to insist, but it’s like a review for another plugin)

Is this your plugin interface? I installed the plugin again, this time on a third party site.
I can’t give you a screenshot of the plugin running on a production site that has exceeded the number of views for weather impressions because I can’t test on a live site.
Maybe I didn’t understand very well from your explanations how to use the plugin. I tried to set up any station that was free and I couldn’t find one.
Can you give me an example setting for this interface where I have at least one station that provides the information unconditionally?

    Thank you!

    OK.

First of all, you will never see the message you cite as there’s no such message in Weather Station.

That being said, here are some hints for you:

    – The screenshot you made is one of the settings page of the plugin. Definitely not the place to set/manage stations. It shows (in columns order): the api key for stations owners (not your case, if I understand well ?? ), the auxiliary services for pollution collection (all have free api plans), the auxiliary mapping services (all have free api plans). To manage stations, the menu is named… Stations. And you will see the vast majority of the stations you can add don’t need API keys.
I suggest you read the inline help of the plugin (“help” tab on the top right of plugin backend) and the official documentation first before making assumptions (it have an introduction of what is and what is not this plugin). Then, after that, if you have question you can ask your question on the support page on wp.org or in the Weather Station community site.

As a reminder, this “review” section is not suitable for support, so I encourage you to use the right section of wp.org or community sites.
