Solid is removing features for paid users??

I just found out today that there seems to be multiple features that went missing in my paid Solid account.

In the plugin, I always had the options to send a notification for inactive users. This is totally gone.

I also had the feature that detected extra WP sites in the file system. While this didn’t often trigger in my client sites, I found it completely missing too.

Then I also found an important feature completely missing, which is the automatic updating of a plugin if a serious vulnerability is found. I usually run maintenance manually once a month, so I don’t do automatic updates. But this feature was handy in case of a serious problem, it would auto-update it for me. Now the feature is gone.

I find this to be very problematic. As a paying customer hoping for software that gets better and better over time, Solid has decided to strip features away and make the product worse and worse over time instead. Three features now missing that I normally enable, so they can try to force me to upgrade?

I don’t recall getting any discount on my cost for them removing features from the app.

I have to ask, are there any future plans to actually make the product BETTER or are we on a trajectory to keep getting more features removed? What is the plan? I don’t give a crap that you made a partnership with Patchstack, good for you, but that doesn’t mean you should go to all your Pro paying users and rip away features from them to try and force an upgrade.

I hate it when companies get greedy and screw paying customers like this. I always thought iThemes/Solid was decent and recommended it to people, but that reputation just took a big hit now that I find you’re on a path of making the product worse rather than better over time. I’m tempted to reinstall the 6-month old version of Solid since it’s a more feature filled product now.

Or if you are intending to continue crippling and making the product worse, I expect the price to come down.

Sorry, have to vent. I’m not interested in any corporate-speak response trying to justify this. I haven’t seen any new features added to Solid since the branding change, and now instead you’ve made it worse. It’s just very bad form.
