software bug conflicts with theme twenty fourteen

    Hello,

    I would like to bring to your attention a bug or error with your plugin as it disrupts the customization feature of twentyfourteen theme as well as twentyfourteen extended plugin.

    A programmer friend (who used to work for DOD and is a computer scientist PhD) noted it. I have a couple websites and when I disable your RSS Multi Importer plugin, the twentyfourteen theme customization feature works fine.

    I thought it might help to inform you of this. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoy your plugin. Hope you can sort this out.

    Thanks – can you explain what breaks when you are running my plugin and what customization you have set – for example, I’m running that theme on my development server and haven’t seen any problems.

    In the Dashboard of TwentyFourteen theme, if you go down the left sidebar and select Appearance/Customize, it should open a customization preview menu of the website. However, this feature does not work, the screen is a blank white and the left sidebar menu for Customize as well as Fourteen Extended and Fourteen Colors plugins do not work. Their drop-down menus are non-responsive.

    The only way to get the Appearance/Customize plugin features to work is apparently to deactivate RSS Multi-importer plugin.

    I am not a programmer, so I could not give you any more specific details than this. I have tried reinstalls of WordPress, 2014 Theme, and RSS Multi-importer but always end up with the same result. I was using your plugin on 2 different sites and experienced identical problems and solved both of them with the deactivation of RSS plugin.

    Please update me on any progress. I’d like to use your plugin, but am searching for an alternative for now.

    ok…in the shortrun, you can replace this file with what’s on the server (as long as you’re not using the widget)…it’s registering the widget that is causing the problem
