    Hi,

We received a call from PayPal around the Pay in 3 which sounded interesting and after following the UK integration instructions here https://developer.paypal.com/docs/business/pay-later/commerce-platforms/ I installed this plugin.

The integration seems ok to a point but after selecting the PayPal radio button on our Checkout page three buttons are displayed with the following labels:

    1) PayPal
    2) Sofort
    3) Debit or Credit Card

I was only expecting one – the first one labelled PayPal and have not got a clue why the 2nd button named Sofort is displayed. In addition to this I don’t want the Debit or Credit card button displayed either as we offer this payment method via Stripe higher up. I was hoping that the Enable/Disable option under PayPal card Processing section of the plugin might not show the Debit or Credit card button when disabled but this does not seem to be the case.

Could someone possibly explain how to hide the Sofort button and the Debit or Credit Card buttons if this is indeed possible?

In terms of site details all caches have been cleared during testing and I am running the latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce, the plugin itself and Storefront child theme. It is a UK hosted site.

    Many thanks

    Steve.

    Hi @stepfaul,

The payment buttons are served directly from PayPal and vary depending on the users location.
Currently, there is no setting in the plugin that can directly influence which payment buttons are displayed.
If you enable the PayPal Card Processing, the Credit Cards will be removed from the default payment frame and instead move to a separate radio button with a simplified credit card checkout experience.
However, changing the button layout from vertical to horizontal can lead to only the PayPal button being shown in some environments.
This is a bug we are currently investigating, but you may be able to use it to your advantage if you only want the PayPal button to show.
Anyways we are looking at providing more control on what buttons are displayed, but since most of this logic is controlled directly by PayPal, it’s not a trivial thing to do.
Apart from this “bug-workaround”, I could only suggest reaching out to PayPal directly and ask if they can disable some of the payment methods for your merchant account.
This should be possible, but I will consult with our developers to ask for alternative ways to do achieve this from a plugin perspective.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Thanks for the mega quick response! I will try your workaround and also contact PayPal.

Just to add that although I don’t normally like bugs the following

However, changing the button layout from vertical to horizontal can lead to only the PayPal button being shown in some environments.

Works for me and only shows the PayPal button and not the Sofort or Debit or Credit Card buttons which is perfect for me.

I appreciate this is subject to change so will keep an eye on things but for now the workaround is perfect.

    Thanks again

    Steve.

Thanks for giving it a try, Steve!
We are not yet entirely sure what the cause for this is, but when we fix this issue, we will consider ways to hide other buttons apart from PayPal.
No promises, but it is a valid feature request and you are not the first one to ask for it, so I linked this thread to our developer issue.
This plugin is in active development and there is much more to come. Next week, we will release an update with major new features, so stay tuned.

Since you are happy with the workaround, I will mark this resolved for now, but I will try to keep you updated when we are implementing a functionality that can intentionally achieve this result.

Also, if you like the plugin and our support, we would appreciate it if you could consider leaving a review, as it helps us with the visibility of the plugin.
In any case, thanks a lot for your feedback.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi,

Just jumping in on this thread as I have a question if you don’t mind.

Also a UK store here and getting the Sofort and ‘Debit or Credit Card’ buttons which I don’t want – @niklasinpsyde, you said ‘If you enable the PayPal Card Processing, the Credit Cards will be removed from the default payment frame and instead move to a separate radio button with a simplified credit card checkout experience.‘ where would I do that? Is that on the plugin settings (I can’t see it), or is it on the Sandbox account settings somewhere?

I’m also not seeing the Pay in 3 messaging even though it’s enabled in the plugin settings – I’m clearly doing something wrong!

if you disable sorfort as a payment method the button goes away

    Hello @the_lar

you can find the option to disable the individual payment options under:
WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Paypal – Manage > “Disable funding sources”

In the text field, you can select the payment options you want to disable.
    Hopefully, this helps you further.

    Cheers,
    Joost

Hi guys, we are having the same issue.

I can confirm that sofort can be easily disabled using the hide methods.

When we switch TO horizontal, this does indeed get rid of the black debit/credit card buttons, however, the PLACE ORDER button used for debit and credit cards now appears in its place, so it would seem that the plugin is a bit buggy, which is a shame really!

We have two sites with two completeley different themes (one elementor, one wp bakery) and it happens in both.

Will keep an eye on this thread for a solution. We are based in the UK.

    Thanks, Dave

    Hi @dlaslett,

As mentioned above, the black button for Credit/Debit Cards can either be disabled through the Disable funding sources setting or by activating the PayPal Card Processing.
That the Credit/Debit Cards button disappears after setting the layout to horizontal is intended behavior.
But there should not appear any other “Place order” button and I also can’t reproduce the behavior.
Please open a support ticket with us as described here and include a copy of your WooCommerce system report:

    Thanks!

    Same issue here.

No disable funding sources option in Manage Paypal Payment Method.

    Screenshot with all options:

It’s not even possible to target the buttons with CSS to prevent display.

    Hi @dmeijide,

Please visit the plugin settings, hit CTRL+F, and search for Disable funding sources.
It’s right there in your screenshot between “Landing Page” and “Vaulting”.
Individual funding sources cannot be targeted via CSS and if you want to disable them, you can either use the option above or alternatively set your button layout to horizontal as the APMs only support the vertical button layout:
    https://developer.paypal.com/docs/checkout/integration-features/alternative-payment-methods/#accept-alternative-payment-methods-on-your-website

For any further questions please either open your own thread or contact us as described in the message above.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
