Social Preview – Open Graph Images?

Greetings,
Whenever I post a link to my site or an article, the only options available in the Facebook preview (let’s say) are a couple of the icons from the Social Media Widget; not even the featured image in any post.
Is there something in Social Media Widget that is taking over as the preview image for the site/post? How can it be resolved so that either my site’s favicon is the preview or ALL of the icons in Social Media Widget are available for selection? (I even tried adding an icon with link back to the site, as a test. But, it still only shows three options or so available when I post a link to Facebook.
