Is it possible to use the social broadcast plugin to post ONLY to pages? I have a client that I’m setting this plugin up for, but they are admins on several different pages and only want the broadcast to go to a specific page. I’d really like to only have one page set up so there is no risk of someone accidentally posting a broadcast to a personal account or other page.

  • I have the same issue here. Do not want to have my colleagues post to my private account but to our company page.

Solution: add the page to their Facebook account then have them add the Fb account and page to their profile.

mmh, we have a company blog with about 10 authors. These authors don’t have an FB account but their articles should be published to our companies FB page.

    1. they create a Fb account
    2. add them to your page
    3. they add the accounts to their profiles

This appears to accomplish what you want.

    Hey Alex,

Thanks for the response! In theory, this is a smart idea. However, my clients are also admins on several other pages. It’s a bit of hassle for someone to create a new FB account when it means you also have to sign up for a unique e-mail address (since one e-mail address cannot be used to create two facebook accounts).

Anyway, just a thought for the next version of Social! (and custom-post-type integration which was the reason I had to switch plugins for this particular project in the end).

Thanks again for the great plugin, Alex!

Then create a new Fb account, give it access to the page and add it for everyone to use.

This is solvable with the existing plugin, if you want it to work.

?? Well, I have to log in for each user to do this, right? This solution does not scale well for the administrator.
Would it be so hard to provide a checkbox “Activated” near to the FB person as you do for all the pages? There already is the “Standard” checkbox…

Well, I have to log in for each user to do this, right?

    No, you don’t… to reiterate:

… create a new Fb account, give it access to the page and add it for everyone to use.

Add it to the global accounts on the Social settings page.

Got it… This was what I’ve done. In this case, FB Account AND the Page is showing up during the publishing process. My users where confused whether to use the Account or the Page or both of them. This is why I asked you to make it possible to hide the FB Account (user) at all.

sorry Alex, this issue isn’t resolved from my view! Of course it’s OK if you don’t change anything but the issue is still open. I would like you to add the option to hide personal accounts so users could only publish to (company) pages.
