Social Network site with or without Buddypress?

I am having annoying problems with my installed Buddypress on https://lakasmuhely.hu (wp 3.3.1. bp
my biggest problem is that I cannot find any solutions or descriptions to follow and I am not a pro to figure out things for myself. Could de following be managed without Buddypress with just certain plugins? Please give me some advice, features I would like to have on my site:

– user roles – User Role Editor – fine, working
– posts from others only appear on the site automatically after 2-3 approved posts
– integrate blogs and posts from users who post to their own blogs (lets say integrate a blogspot.com post from a user automatically if they sign up for this)
– easy to use forum
– interaction between members
– personal media gallery per user
