Hi, thanks for the latest update that allows “X” to be added to sharing for posts/pages etc. However I can not see an option to add X to the Social Menu instead of Twitter. It does not appear to be recognising X.com/username (example) as a link icon – if I use x.com when redoing the twitter link, there is no X icon in the social menu. It just becomes a generic link icon. So I’m still having to use twitter.com/username (example) which generates and recognises the Twitter bird icon.

The “navigation label” and “title attribute” both have been changed to say X instead of Twitter.

I’d like to make the adjustment for my clients website so we are up to date with social media icons.

If I’m missing something please let me know, if not is there an ETA when wordpress will be recognising X in the social menu for sites.

    ~Hi,

Just an update. Having done a (fair) bit of searching through the different forums, I see the menu (I’m using the TwentyTwenty theme for now) is controlled by Gutenberg and this is an issue that is still being looked at if I am following the Github conversations correctly.

I will mark this as resolved and follow the relevant Github conversations and hopefully this is resolved soon in the Gutenberg core for WordPress.
