Social media widgets open in another window

To get the social media buttons to link out, you should be able to add this snippet into your hyperlink, for example Facebook

target=”_blank”

I can only fill in a URL at the widget:

For example:
https://www.facebook.com/unknownjet

If I put the target=”_blank” then it’s not working. Same with the <a href=”..

Any idea how to fix that?

This styling should alter where the menu appears. You can move the menu left or right by changing the number of px on the margin-left line. Just copy and paste it into the “Custom CSS” section:

ul#menu-menu {
position: absolute;
margin-left: 220px;
}

As for the social media widgets, they should be set to automatically open in a new tab. If they aren’t, there should be a line in the widgets.php file in your editor that reads:

” target=”_blank”>

If this line is missing the “target=”_blank” snippet, then that is why the links aren’t opening in a new tab. If you feel comfortable getting into the editor, this should solve your problem.
