• Been having a strange problem with WP2017.

Have tried installing a number of social media sharing plugins, all with same result: the icons display on all posts on blog page only if you access posts by scrolling down site until you get to the blog page displaying teasers (with continue reading link).

When you click on any of these links and see posts, they will have icons displaying. Similarly, if you click Previous to view other posts, they will all have the social media share icons.

But if you first go directly to the site main navigation menu at top of the site and click on the blog page title, it will take you to the most recent post which will NOT have any social media icons. Nor will any of the rest of the posts when you click Previous button.

I also tried a social media plugin with shortcode and pasted that into post(s), but it only displayed text not the icon.

What am I missing here (I don’t have huge tech experience with WP)? Is this usual for WP2017? Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks!

We’ll need a link to the site with the problem first.

Also, what plugin are you using to provide the social media sharing buttons?

    Hi James –

The website is not published yet.

I installed/activated Social Pug, Sassy Social, and Scriptless Social Sharing. All had same results as described in my previous post.
    Thx

Well, it’s hard to say without seeing, but some plugins, like Jetpack for example, have a separate option to display sharing buttons on the front page: https://jetpack.com/support/sharing/
