Social Media cards display wrong URLs

    Hi y’all, when I share my site on sites like Facebook or Twitter, they display the incorrect url or page info. For example, when I post https://knifetank.com/ on Twitter it shows a https://https://knifetank.backerkit.com. When I share the site to FB, it sometimes displays the preview link as “Kickstarter.com”

    For a while, I was using domain forwarding to backerkit.com, so it’s not totally random, but I set up my WordPress site a few weeks ago and have the DNS and YOAST SEO all set up for https://knifetank.com/

    It could just take a while for social media to update their info, but I wanted to check and see if there was anything I needed to do to help nudge them to display the correct url.

    Hi,

    Please run the URL through the Twitter Card Validator and Facebook’s Sharing Debugger Tool and see if you are getting the expected social preview.

    We did check on your URL https://knifetank.com/ and it does seem that the correct open graph tags from the Yoast SEO plugin are generating, so it may be a cache issue on the part of Facebook and Twitter.

    Perhaps you can try adding dummy parameters to the end of your URL so it will generate a unique URL value with the updated information. You can learn more about it here.
