• I love that Customizr automatically lets you link social media accounts to your site and display them on your homepage. However, and maybe this is a browser issue (?), I don’t see the Facebook button or Twitter button, just that strange little box with four letters and/or numbers. (Excuse my ignorance; I’m learning a lot about web development as I go). They are active links, though, and when I hover over them I get the little text box that says “follow me on Facebook/Twitter” so it works….thoughts? Did I do something wrong? Can I fix this?

    Thanks,

    Ashley

  • What browser/operating system are you using? Do you have javascript enabled?

    I do have javascript enabled. I use Firefox. The RSS feed icon is showing, but not the facebook or twitter icons. Thanks for your feedback, though!

    You might have put a single or double quote at front/back of the Facebook/Twitter url?

    https://www.facebook.com/pages/facebook-name/99999999999999999 is what my FB link looks like.

    Thanks for your feedback, but that’s what mine looks like, too. No aberrant quotes…Thanks for your help everyone! For now I am using a separate widget, although I would like to use the customizr feature of having the social media links in the header. Oh well.

    The icons are displayed with the genericons font. I suspect that you have something that’s interfering with that somehow (plugin? / other font change in the social media block?). If you give us a link to your site, we can tell you if we can see the icons even if you can’t. We could also tell you if there is something in your CSS that is stopping them displaying.

    I’m having a similar problem – none of my social media icons display in IE.

    Ashley,

    I had the same issue yesterday and found there was a CSS collision for the element .icon-facebook:before

    I use the All-In-One Calendar plugin and found the offending css code in there. I don’t have a great fix for it yet but what I did in the meantime is to change the CSS in the calendar plugin to match what the Customizr theme says it should be which is:

    .icon-facebook:before{content:"\f204";}

    Hope this helps. If you can give us a URL I am happy to check if it looks the same as mine did in firebug.
